annie “Nan” Zane Vermillion, a resident of Harwood for 75 years, died peacefully of natural causes on Monday, March 23 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 4, 1933 in Lothian, MD to Loyd and Ellen W. Zane, Nan was a graduate of old Southern High School where she was a member of the FFA. A homemaker for most of her life, she also worked at the Anne Arundel County Courthouse. She was also a youth duckpin bowling coach at Colonial Lanes in Annapolis for many years. She also worked at Rinaldi’s Colonial Lanes and J.C. Penney, both in Annapolis. Her interests included duckpin bowling, camping and music. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John “Jack” Zane and grandson Timothy Pearson. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Edgar “Buddy” F. Vermillion, Jr., one son, Joseph F. Vermillion, one daughter, Theresa Vermillion-Johnson and her two sons, Tommy and Travis Pearson, two daughters-in-law, Lucy Parks and Lindsay Pearson and seven great-grandchildren, Maggie Pearson, Virginia Pearson, Devin Keller, Isabella Pearson, Cheyanne Pearson, Shelby Pearson and Delilah Pearson. Due to the corona virus restrictions, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122.
