Naomi Beck - Obituary

aomi Irene Beck, "Nina", an 8-year resident of Odenton, MD and previously of Dunkirk, MD for 30 years died suddenly on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Washington Hospital Center. Born on September 15, 1946 in Riverdale, MD, Nina was an employee and former board member of the Calvert County Public Schools. Nina was a founding member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Owings, MD and was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church. Nina enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending sporting events, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and she loved the beach. Nina is survived by her husband, John Beck, whom she married on June 26, 1965; four children, John (Jeanette) Beck of West River, MD, Judy (Mike) Branson of North Beach, MD, James (Tammy) Beck of Huntingtown, MD and Jennifer (Eric) Lyons of Davidsonville, MD; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Jeremy, Tanner, Jack and Jason. She is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and many other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to Nina’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, March 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31 at 10am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD. Interment will be private.
