aomi “Tubby” Juanita Harrington, 85, a 4-month resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Davidsonville, MD died on February 11, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born September 25, 1929 in Marion, OH, to the late Charles Foster Willmeth and Edith Caroline Moore-Willmeth, Naomi graduated from Marion High School and was employed at Kent State University from 1968-83 as a library administrator. Naomi and her husband, Dick were proprietors of the "Town Pump" truck stop at Cotton Corners in Ravenna, Ohio from 1952 to 1963. Naomi enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing, gardening, humming birds, boating and camping.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” David Harrington, whom she married June 1, 1952 and who died in 2006; a son, Charles “Chuck” Eugene Cull, who died May 1, 2001; 4 sisters, Betty Whittington, Clara Leib, Eileen Wilmeth and Chardell Carter.
She is survived by a son, Richard Park Harrington of Edgewater, MD; a sister, Thelma Jane Starner of Marion, OH; 2 grandchildren, Richard Lee Harrington of Pasadena, MD and Robert Lee Bishop of Davidsonville, MD; and a daughter in law, Jin Kyung Park of Edgewater, MD. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Naomi’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 7pm. Interment to be held in Edinburg, Ohio in June.
