e are sad to announce the passing of Naomi Fisher Quattrocchi, (Mickey, Mrs. Q) of Oxon Hill. She passed away at 94 years of age on August 28, 2022, after a long and happy life. She was born November 9, 1927, to the late John T. and Ruth M. Fisher. She spent her childhood running the hills, playing in creeks, and working hard on the Fisher tobacco farm in Oxon Hill, MD. She graduated from Oxon Hill High School and then the University of Maryland in 1951 with a BA. It was at the University of Maryland where she met her beloved husband, Andrew Quattrocchi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Quattrocchi, son Andrew John Quattrocchi, brothers John T. Fisher III, Thomas G. Fisher, Robert B. Fisher, and sister Theodora M. Robertson. Those left to cherish her memory include, her two daughters, Ruth Hardin, and Diane Quattrocchi (Rosario Zangla); her Grandchildren Jesse Hardin, Jeremy Hardin, James Hardin and Stephanie Nucci; her Great-grandchildren: Mickey, Jordan, Gabriel, Trevor, Ava, Jack, Tessa, Reagan, Emily, Max, Joey, Dylan, Sylvie, John Luke, and Annie; her sister Ruth Valencia of Edgewater, and her many nieces and nephews. Mickey’s lifelong passion was tennis. The sheer joy of competing, both mentally and physically, fed her soul. Throughout the year you would find her playing in tournaments and doubles matches. She won several championship tournaments over her lifetime. Naomi loved exploring the United States and traveling the world. She liked anything outdoors, but especially walking, bicycling, hiking, and camping. In July of 1977 she traveled down the Snake River in a dory with her husband Andy, brother Bobby and son Andrew. During the summer of 1989 she enjoyed a road trip with her children and grandchildren to Yellowstone, Glacier, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, and the Badlands National Park. In 1997 she travelled to China with her very dear friend Garth Summers and hiked portions of the Great Wall. She was a lifetime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She is remembered as being generous and kind to her family and friends. She was very loved and will be missed terribly. In her last few years, Naomi struggled with Alzheimer's disease. She battled it like a true warrior until the very end. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Mrs. Naomi Quattrocchi on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 2401 Brinkley Rd., Ft. Washington, MD 20744. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
