N

eophetos I. Kacoyianni, 70, a Master Barber, custom home builder and a 40 year resident of Annapolis died July 4, 2011, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was born in Yialousa, Famagusta, Cyprus in 1940 and served in the Army of Cyprus. After his service, Mr. Kacoyianni moved to London, England where he attended trade school. In 1967, he married his wife Kyriacoulla and immigrated to the United States in 1972. He was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox church in Annapolis and the Order of Ahepa. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, photography and loved spending time with is grandchildren. Neophetos was preceded in death by one sister, Irini P. Sophocles. In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by two daughters, Christina K. Matta and Eleni K. Pletcher; one son, Yiannes Kacoyianni; one brother, Nick Kakoyianni of Ontario, Canada; one sister, Mary Christoforou of Annapolis; also survived by 6 grandchildren, Marguerite, Jonathan, Neophetos Andreas, Mia, Christopher and Lucas. Friends are invited to Neophetos’ Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Wednesday from 1 to 3pm and 5 to 7pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 11am at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis. Interment St. Demetrios Greek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Basil Academy, 79 Saint Basil Road, Garrison, NY 10524.
