Nicholas "Nick" Robert Fornaro passed away at the age of 28 on April 30, 2015.
Nick was a correctional officer at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, where he was recognized as Employee of the Month. He and his wife, Amanda, relocated to Florida, where he was a correctional officer at the Charlotte Correctional Institute. While serving there, he received the "Award of Excellence” for his dedication to the department. Nick and his young family moved back to Maryland to be with their families. He became a supervisor for Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzel Company. Nick took the steps to launch his own business, Nicholas Fornaro Photography. Nick was a published Photographer for National Geographic. He also published a book of poetry titled, “Through the Eyes of the Blind Beholder." Nick was an avid hunter of shark teeth and various fossils.
In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his beautiful daughter, Scarlett; his parents, Jay and Martha Stewart; one sister, Kacie; a nephew, Kayden; and his in-laws, David and Karen Cook.
Friends are invited to celebrate Nicholas' life from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, May 8 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD and from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 9 at the American Legion Post 226, 830 Mayo Rd., Edgewater, MD.
