Norene Klemm - Obituary

orene Francis Klemm, 87, a 45-year resident of Bowie, died at her home on October 8 of congestive heart failure. Born July 12, 1926 in Asherville, KS, Norene graduated from Kansas State University in 1948. She was a military wife and mother and was a very active member of Wildercroft Church of Christ in Riverdale, MD. She enjoyed flower gardening and homemaking. Norene was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Vernon Paul Klemm, USN (Ret.), whom she married June 7, 1949 and who died September 18, 2006; and a sister, Carol Louise Melton. She is survived by a son, Merril (Vicki) Klemm of Cedar Rapids, IA, three daughters, Paula (Bob) Thomas of Jennings, FL, Janet (Mark) Ostroff of Largo and Peggy (Randy) Williams of Newport, AR; two grandsons, Kevin (Erin) Watkins of Springfield, VA and Michael Ostroff of Temple Hills; six granddaughters, Megan (Rich) McClung of Odenton, Christine Ostroff of Green Bay, WI, Margaret (Grady) Harmon of Huntsville, AL, Elizabeth Williams of Atlanta, GA, Shannon Watkins of Odenton and Catherine (Gilbert) Zavala of Newport, AR, and three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Avery Watkins and Clark Harmon. Friends are invited to Norene's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas funeral home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Saturday, October 12 from 2pm until her funeral service begins at 4pm.
