orris Courtland “Sonny” Beall, Jr., 84, a 63-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Laurel, MD, passed away on July 7, 2015 in Berlin, MD. Born on November 22, 1930 in Washington, DC to the late Norris and Maude Beall, Sr., Sonny graduated from Laurel High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Radioman Third Class. He worked for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission for 29 years until he retired in 1978. From 1988 to 2003, Sonny worked for Walps Service Center. He enjoyed watching football and baseball on television and relaxing in Ocean City, MD Sonny is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara A. Beall; one son, Wayne Courtland Beall, Sr. of Edgewater; two daughters, Sandra Walp of Annapolis and Dawn Pennell of Davidsonville; and five grandchildren, Wayne Courtland Beall, Jr., Jordan Beall, and Kyle, Joshua and Brittany Pennell. Friends are invited to celebrate Sonny’s life from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, July 12 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater where Sonny’s funeral service will be held at 10AM on Monday, July 13. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
