liver “Bill†William Musgrove, 76, a resident of Edgewater for over 50 years, died on Friday March 26, 2010 at Arcadia Assisted Living Home in Chester, MD from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Born August 19, 1933 in Washington, DC to the late Oliver and Margaret Musgrove, he attended Holy Comforter High School in Washington, DC. Bill worked at Wilson Foods (formerly Briggs Meatpacking Company) for 31 years from the mid-1950's to 1981. He also worked at the U.S. Naval Academy as a groundskeeper from the mid-1980's until his retirement in 1999.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Beach Master Medal.
Bill was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for over 50 years and was a former member of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a general aviation pilot.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Musgrove of Edgewater, MD, whom he married in September of 1961, his daughter, Donna Poole of Edgewater, MD, and his sons, William (Bill) Musgrove of Port Republic, MD and Kenneth Musgrove of Edgewater, MD. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Bill's Life celebration on Monday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Annapolis.
