Onofre Moran - Obituary

fter a protracted battle with cancer, Onofre Luis (Jay) M. Moran died on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in his home in Oxon Hill, Maryland at the age of 54. He leaves behind his three sons: Michael, Alex, and Peter. Jay was born on March 20, 1961 in Manila, Philippines, to father Isabelo C. Moran, Jr., who predeceased him, and mother Maria Luisa Roland. Jay is survived by his mother, his three sons, and his two sisters, Abel M. Moran and Mah-Ann Mendoza. He is preceded in death by his sister, Maria Irvina M. Moran. Jay graduated from the Golden Gate University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and graduated cum laude from Parks College with a Bachelor and Associate degree in Management. Jay was a driven professional with a successful 15-year career in the United States Navy where he managed personnel and administrative affairs of over 2,000 military and civilian personnel. He then joined the private sector as a senior team member of Susan Davis International. He became the Chairman and CEO of JSYSTEMS, Inc., in November 2005, where he provided independent consulting services related to Finance and Operations. In his final years, he worked as a Policy Analyst within the Department of Homeland Security where he enjoyed his work protecting America. Jay also enjoyed playing basketball, movies, and reading. Friends are invited to celebrate Jay's life on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD until funeral services at 3 P.M. Jay requested to be cremated. The family would especially like to thank the Hospice Nurses, Jay’s resident caretakers, for their attentive treatment, and the George P.
