Owen L. Childs - Obituary

wen L. Childs, "Chief", 56, a resident of Edgewater, MD for more than twenty-two years and previously of Rogers Heights, died of a massive heart attack on Monday, March 18 at his home. Born on April 1, 1962 in Cheverly, MD to the late Daniel Aloysious and Agnes Rose Legat Childs, Owen was a graduate of Bladensburg High School. He was self employed in the roofing and siding business and was the founder of the American Legion Riders Post 226 in Mayo, MD. Owen is survived by his lifelong companion, Nene; his stepchildren, Dale (Stacey) Altizer and Trisha (Jason) Bell both of Edgewater, MD; his siblings, Debbie (Buddy) Kramer of MD, Pamie Frye of VA, Peggie-Sue (Jeff) McDaniel of MD, Sonny (Janet) Childs of FL, Ricky (Linda), Mac (Peggy-Ann), Mini and Louie (Bettyanne) Childs all of MD and his grandchildren, Justin and Chesnie Bell. Owen's life celebration will be held at American Legion Post 226, 830 Mayo Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037 on Sunday, March 24 at 3 pm.
