P

amela Renee Reid, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and active church member of Capital Church of Christ, passed peacefully on June 8, 2018, after a brief illness. Pam was born July 25, 1967, in Patterson, New Jersey to Carol and Clarence Strange. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elsie Mae Brown, her father, Clarence Strange, her younger brother, Gary Strange, her sister-in-law, Sara Reid, and her nephew, Ryan Mallory. She leaves behind to mourn her devoted and loving husband of 26 years, Bruce Sr.; sons, Bruce Reid Jr., Brent Reid (Raelle), Jonathan Strange; mother Carol Strange; sisters Jeannine Murray (James Jr.), Lisa Green (Jimmy III), and Ayanna Hall; brother Bernard Strange. Also mourning are in-laws, Marcus Reid, Eric Reid (Sharon), and Orlie Reid (Natashia), along with more than 30 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ whom she adored. Pam graduated with honors from Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge, LA in 1985. She attended Louisiana State University where she studied accounting and earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1991. In 1990, a mutual church friend introduced her to Bruce Gregory Reid, who quickly became the love of her life, marrying a year later on October 26, 1991. The Reid’s settled in Annapolis, MD in 1992 to raise a family. For ten years, Pam took on her most challenging yet fulfilling job, devoted stay at home mother to her sons, Bruce Jr. and Brent, also raising her nephew Jonathan Strange. Pam very proudly supported the boys’ studies, sports, music, and participation in church and other social activities. In 2002, Pam reentered the workforce as a licensed realtor and then a secretary at Bert Spriggs Lincoln Mercury. Later, she was offered a position with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools System where she worked at Tyler Heights Elementary for 10 years before transitioning to a position at the Board of Education in 2014. Always a devoted follower and lover of Christ, Pam dedicated her life to the Church. She was baptized at the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ on December 5, 1982. After moving to Annapolis, Pam placed her membership with the Capital Church of Christ where she became a very influential member of the Education, Marriage and Women’s Ministries. Pam had a loving, caring, and supportive spirit that touched every person she came across. Her beautiful smile and gleeful laugh brightened any room she entered. She will be sorely missed by everyone who has ever encountered her sweet spirit. Family and friends are invited to Pamela's life celebration on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 10am to 11am at the Capital Church of Christ, 1790 Lincoln Dr, Annapolis, MD 21401. A funeral service will begin at 11am, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, 1911 Forrest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401.
