Patricia Fullam - Obituary

atricia Helen "Pat" Fullam, 78, of Annapolis for 15 years and previously of Springfield, VA, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center February 28 of COPD and M.S. after a long illness. Mrs. Fullam was born April 12, 1932 in Detroit, MI. She graduated Eastern Michigan University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She served as Chair of the Area Representative Committee for the Hazelwood School District in Missouri. She taught English and Reading for several years in the Fairfax County School District, in Fairfax Country, Virginia. She specialized in teaching children with learning differences how to read, and she always got special joy in helping these children to learn and be successful in school. Through the years, parents of the children she taught thanked her for helping their children to turn their lives around. Following her retirement, she enjoyed being with her family, literature, poetry, reading, gardening, baking, cooking, listening to music, and crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Osgood, and second husband Richard Fullam, Jr. She was also predeceased by son Thomas Osgood, daughter Linda Thornton, daughter Cyndie Parry, and two infant sons, William and James and a brother James Granger. She is survived by three daughters, Laura Osgood of Germantown, Barbara McCaffrey of Davidsonville, and Donna Osgood Herberger of Annapolis; one son, Richard Fullam, III; two sisters, Joyce McCool and Barbara Barta; also survived by 10 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Pat’s Life Celebration from 7 to 9 pm, Monday, March 7, 2011 at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where services will be held at 11:30 am, Tuesday, March 8. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
