Feb 9, 1933 - Sep 14, 2026
atricia V. Severson of Edgewater, MD passed away on September 14, 2026. She was 93 years old. She was born to George and Evelyn Connor on February 9, 1933. Pat met her late husband, Dick, through a mutual friend while Dick was in the Naval hospital in Washington, D.C. recovering from a brief illness. He was released several days after they met and thus began a whirlwind courtship of just two weeks before getting married on August 24, 1951. She was just 18 and he just 22. They began a journey together that lasted through 62 years, 7 kids, and 54 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pat enjoyed the travel that came with Dick being in the U.S. Navy. She and the family settled in Edgewater, MD for good in 1964, where she resided until her passing. Pat’s most enjoyable part of life was her family and friends. She cherished being a devoted mother and wife. She loved to have fun and was always the center of a good time. If the party was a success and talked about it the next day, Pat was always the reason. She enjoyed life and felt that she was the luckiest woman in the world to have married Dick, and to have been a mother to 7 children, and able to travel the world. How could a nobody girl from Ocean City, MD be so damn lucky? Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband Richard “Dick” Severson. She is survived by her children Lynn Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Steverson, Jr. of Edgewater, Timothy Severson of Edgewater, Karen Patnaude of Cleveland, TN, Kevin Severson of Edgewater, Brett Severson of Edgewater, and Joseph Severson of Edgewater. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pat’s life on Friday, September 18 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road Edgewater, MD 21037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 19 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037.
