atricia Drury Sullivan (December 22, 1933 – April 29, 2024) Dedicated Military Wife, Devoted Mother, Loyal Friend Patricia Drury Sullivan, age 90, died on April 29, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her loving husband, Col. John J. Sullivan; children John Sullivan (Mohini Rawool Sullivan), Jim Sullivan (Laurie Sullivan), Jennifer Good (Keith Good), and Julia Sullivan (Douglas Robinson); grandchildren Lindsay Bookout, R. James Sullivan (Adriana Sullivan), Keith Good, Kathleen Hassey (Brad Hassey), Christopher Good, and Connor Good; step-grandchildren Stephen Robinson (Andrea Freeman) and Kathryn Robinson; great-grandchildren Merlin Bookout, Gwendolyn Bookout, Lucy Bookout, W. Connor Sullivan, and Maddox Sullivan; and step great grandchild Willa Robinson. She was pre-deceased by her son, Jeff Sullivan. Patricia was born on December 22, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey. Her mother, Ethel Carson Drury, was an Irish immigrant and a nurse, and her father, Peter Drury, was a civil engineer. Patricia graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York, where she met her future husband, John Sullivan. She later graduated from Centenary College. Patricia and John married on November 14, 1953, in Hondo, Texas, while John was in pilot training (and not supposed to be married). They had five children (three boys and two girls), plus various dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, lizards, and turtles. During their 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, they moved the family 31 times. After John retired from the military, John and Patricia settled in Annapolis, where they have been since 1984. Patricia loved unconditionally, gave generously, and forgave easily. She was an adventurer, a world traveler, and a constant source of light and kindness with a beautiful and gentle soul. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patricia’s life on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until her funeral service begins at noon at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD. The family invites donations in Patricia’s honor to The Light House, Inc., 10 Hudson St., Annapolis, MD 21401, or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
