atricia Ann Taylor "Pat", 84, a 20-year resident of Newport, Tenn. and previously of Landover Hills, MD, passed on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Palmetto, Florida after a short six-week illness. She was born on April 7, 1934 in Charleston, WV to the late William Kessler (coalminer), Geraldine Meadows Keyser (homemaker). In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Farley “Ray” Taylor and her step-father Burton Ellsworth Keyser. She is survived by two sons, Dale E. (Kathy) Taylor of Rochester, NY and Paul W. (Pamela) Taylor of Lakewood Ranch, FL; two siblings, Michael Ellsworth Keyser of California, and Linda Keyser Callan of Maryland; two grandchildren, Jack and Alexandra Taylor; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Pat was a graduate of Strayer University and worked as a book keeper at Glenridge Junior High School in Landover Hills, MD. She proudly volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a member of Free Will Baptist Church of Newport in Newport, Tennessee. She was also a Loyal Order Member of the Moose Lodge in College Park, MD. After Pat’s husband Ray passed in 2009, she moved back to Prince Frederick, MD to care for her step-father and mother. To be closer to her son in July 2017, she moved to Cypress Springs Independent Living Facility in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Pat found comfort in caring for and nurturing others and to her, no one was a stranger. She enjoyed a variety of sports especially baseball and football and one of her favorite hobbies, was collecting treasures. Friends are invited to celebrate Pat's life on Saturday, October 6 from 11am until her service begins at 12 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment will be private at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
