weet, spicy, and full of loving kindness are just a few ways to describe Patricia Ann Waters affectionally known as Punchie. She loved life and lived it to the fullest with no inhibitions. But that life went on until eternity on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Punchie was born on July 10, 1947 in Washington, District of Columbia to the late Edward R. Henson, Sr. and Sylvia C. Henson. She was educated in the District of Columbia school system. Punchie was married to Chester Eugene Waters, Sr. for 52 years. From this union, they were blessed with one son, Chester Eugene Waters, Jr. Punchie worked for over 20 years at the former Greater Southeast Community Hospital, presently known as United Medical Health Center, as an Administrative Specialist for the Environmental Services Division. After her tenure with Greater Southeast Community Hospital, she went on to enjoy retired life. During her retirement, Punchie loved to play bingo along with relaxing at her second home in Indian Acres in Thornburg, Virginia, where she was a part of the Golf Cart Club. In addition to her love for bingo, Punchie loved casinos. From Atlantic City to Dover, Delaware and even down the road to MGM casinos, Punchie would never pass up an opportunity to gamble on the White Orchard. And anyone who knew her also knew her love for crabs. She was also a Redskins Superfan, and even though she did not go to the games, she watched every game, every season with her football pool in hand. Punchie had all the Redskins memorabilia including the purse and shoes. She was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Henson and sister Joyce Henson. Punchie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Chester Sr., her son Chester Jr. (Cynthia), her mother Sylvia Henson, her brother Edward (Brenda), her sister Janice (William), nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Punchie's Life Celebration on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 1 p.m.
