P

atrick “Jack” Donithan “Pop-Pop”, 77, passed away at his home in Annapolis, MD on Sunday, March 13, 2022 due to heart complications. Born on January 24, 1945 in Pulaski, VA to the late Reba and Joseph I. Donithan, Jack was a 1964 graduate of Oxon Hill Senior High where he excelled in basketball and held the school record for running the mile in track. He moved to Annapolis, MD with his family in 1979 where he later became a Basketball Commissioner and Football coach for the Peninsula Athletic League. Jack started a career at the National Paint Association in 1964, then went on to work for the Xerox Corporation, retiring in 2006. Jack enjoyed spending time in Atlantic City with his son Robert, betting on the horses at the racetrack, and playing Keno at the Greene Turtle. Some of Jack’s favorite pastimes were watching his oldest son David’s band play, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and most recently spending time with his great-grandson Daxon, sharing muffins and making milkshakes. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margo, his two sons, David and Robert (Holly), his grandchildren Kelsea, Madison, Kevin, and Kathryn and his great-grandson Daxon. Friends are invited to celebrate Jack’s life on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Jack.
