Paul Russell Davenport, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 1st at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and his four children. He was born on October 19, 1951 in Bethesda, Maryland to Walter and Henrietta Davenport. Growing up in Italy sparked Paul’s lifelong passion for travel. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Reserves and worked for the Department of State Foreign Service. He and his family called many places “home” such as Spain, Brazil and Belgium. He enjoyed golfing, riding on his Harley Davidson, scuba diving and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joanne Davenport; his four children, Laura Davenport, Paula (Ryan) Foreman, Caitlin (Lucas) Joyce and Matthew (Saba) Davenport; his siblings, Mark and Carolyn; seven adoring grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters, Claudia and Vicki. Family and friends will join together at a private memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery.
