Paul Stephen Ledford - Obituary

aul Stephen Ledford, 67, transitioned January 27, 2024 at the University of Maryland Hospital in Largo, Maryland. He was born July 12, 1956 in Washington DC, the son of James Curtis Ledford SR and Pauline Gardner Ledford. Paul grew up in Wheaton, Bowie, Marlow Heights and Fort Washington Maryland. He graduated from Largo High School, Class of 1974; and, he got an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from Prince Georges Community College. He worked in the computer field for a number of years; then, Paul returned to college and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences with a focus on Information Security. He made his career as a Help Desk Tech with the Prince George’s County Department of Health. Paul was a single gentleman who loved his job and career and was active in his church, Providence-Fort Washington United Methodist Church, where he sang in the Choir, played handbells, participated in Adult Bible Studies, actively supported the Men’s groups, helped with meals, and was involved in worship as liturgist or scripture reader. He was predeceased by his parents, and survived by his slightly older, only brother, James Curtis Ledford, JR who says “Paul is the Best Brother a guy could ever have…”, and many cousins. An “Hour with Paul & Jim” will be at 10:00am on Thursday, February 22, 2024 followed by “A Celebration of Paul’s Life” at 11:00am at Providence-Fort Washington United Methodist Church, 10610 Old Fort Road, Fort Washington, Maryland 20744. Those who wish to remember Paul in a special way may make gifts in his memory to his church. Interment will follow immediately at Washington National Cemetery, 4101 Suitland Road, Suitland, Maryland 20746.
