aul Carroll Moreland, 74, of Harwood, died after a brief illness at Mandrin House, Hospice of the Chesapeake, on Nov. 22. Mr. Moreland was born on Dec. 24, 1932, in Lothian, the youngest child of the late James and Allene Moreland. He graduated from Southern High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. In earlier years he raised tobacco and was a member of the Maryland Tobacco Growers Association of Southern Maryland. He was a retired employee of the State of Maryland and a member of the American Legion in Annapolis. His interests included military history, reading, cars and sports, especially football. He is survived by three brothers, James Moreland of Fredericksburg, Va., Robert Moreland of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Donald Moreland of Annapolis; two sisters, Maude Stream of Port Charlotte, Fla. and A. Anne Klein of Chesapeake Beach; and his companion, Nancy Holland. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at George Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 122 Bayard Road, Lothian. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake Mandrin House, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401
