aul “Fritz” Gordon Myers, Jr., 83, a 28 year resident of the Northern Neck of Virginia and previously of Silver Spring, MD, died Saturday, October 25 of natural causes at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, MD. He was born on October 13, 1931 in Washington, DC to the late Paul G. and Marie Myers and was a graduate of McKinley Tech in Washington, DC. After high school, Fritz served his country in the US Air Force, ending his service at the rank of Staff Sergeant. While serving, he was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, Germany and Nevada. After his military stint, he worked for the Sahara Casino in Las Vegas, Myers and Quigg in Washington, DC, Southern Road Contractors in Washington, DC and then in 1968 started his own family business, Applicators, Inc. in Silver Spring. He was a former chairman on the US Tennis Court and Track Builders Association. Fritz enjoyed watching sports and was a season ticket holder for the Washington Capitals at the Capital Centre and also for the Washington Redskins. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary M. Myers; two sons, Terrance P. Myers of Silver Spring and Timothy S. Myers of Sykesville; two daughters, Bonnie A. Buchanan of Davidsonville and Jean M. Silverman of Kensington; one sister, Suzann White of Clayton, CA; three grandsons, Andrew S. and Charles R. Myers and Eric Silverman; three granddaughters, Melissa Stoner, Megan Murray and Allison Silverman; five great-grandchildren, Colten and Amanda Stoner, Prina, Sadie and Nia Murray. A public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1 from 11:30am until a funeral service begins at 12:30pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater.
