ith heavy hearts, we share the passing of Paul Albert Parolski, Sr., age 84, on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 22, 1941, in Medford, Massachusetts, Paul was the cherished son of Albert and Mary Grace Parolski. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle, friend, and neighbor whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew him. Paul lived a life defined by integrity, hard work, and compassion. He was deeply dedicated to his career and to those he loved, earning the admiration of colleagues, friends, and family alike. Known for his kindness, humor, and generosity, Paul had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel valued. Outside of his professional career with the Department of Defense, Paul found great joy working with his “Capital Centre Family”. A lifelong fan of Washington, D.C. sports, he cheered passionately for his hometown teams. His love of family, music, and travel enriched every chapter of his life, and his joyful energy was infectious to all who shared in his adventures. Paul proudly served in the National Guard and was called to duty during the 1960s riots in Washington, D.C.—a testament to his lifelong commitment to service and community. Paul’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Margie L. Parolski; his brother, Richard A. Parolski; and his mother-in-law, Jean Poland. He is also survived by his children, daughter Christine P. Martein and son-in-law Robert Martein; son Paul A. Parolski, Jr.; and daughter Sarah Parolski and son-in-law Paul Happel. His grandchildren brought him immense joy: William A. Treff, Katherine D. Treff, Nicolas Parolski, Isadora Parolski, Paul Charles (Charlie) Happel, Wellington (Wells) Happel, and Henry R. Happel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Grace, his stepfather, Richard Bowman, his brother, Kenneth F. Parolski, and his father-in-law, Richard Poland. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
