Paula Jeanne Kennedy - Obituary

aula Jeanne Kennedy, 58, a resident of Southport, NC, and previously of La Plata, MD, died of breast cancer on January 4, 2020 in Wilmington, NC. Born on July 10, 1961, in Washington, DC, to Lorain S. Gibbs and the late Robert W. Gibbs, Paula was a graduate of Oxon Hill High School. She was employed by the Department of the Navy-Office of Naval Intelligence for more than 25 years. Paula enjoyed crafting, traveling, cycling, long walks on the beach and was a lifelong Redskins fan. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jerry A. Kennedy, Jr. and four siblings, Rob Gibbs of Cottonwood, AZ, Laurie Ford of Murrells Inlet, SC, Jeff Gibbs of Severna Park, MD, and Mike Gibbs of Ft. Washington, MD. Friends are invited to celebrate Paula's life on Monday, January 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 11 am. Interment will be on Wednesday, January 15 at 11 am at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
