Paula Ann Robinson - Obituary

aula Ann Robinson was born in Washington, DC, to Paul and Lorraine McGowan on November 6th, 1937. She passed peacefully on November 8th, 2024. She attended Notre Dame High School and Trinity College where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in biology. She remained in the DC area and married Richard Robinson, her high school sweetheart, on November 21, 1959. Paula was the loving mother of four children and leaves behind Mark (Kimberly), Debbie (Al), and Brian (Johanna). She is also survived by her sister, Andrea Curry (Herb) and six grandchildren: Alanna Robinson Baker (Jason) and Addie, Emma, Matthew, Ricky (Amber) and David Robinson as well as six great-grandchildren- JR, Annabelle, and Jackson Baker and Breanna, Kayden, and Blair Robinson, several nieces and nephews and a few very dear friends. She was widowed by her husband in 2013 and predeceased by her oldest son, Richard Jr. (Melinda). Being such a creative soul, Paula enjoyed painting beautiful pictures using oils and watercolors. She worked in ceramics, crocheted, and was interested in decorating. Paula also loved to sew and took great pride in getting all dolled up in one of her personally-created evening gowns to attend a special event at the Officers’ Club with her husband. Her favorite hobbies later in life were shopping until the stores were closing and dining out so she didn’t have to cook. Her fondness for Mocha Frappe’s may have single-handedly been keeping the McDonald’s franchise afloat, and any night male wrestling was on television, she’d watch it because she was a huge fan! Relatives and friends are invited to Paula's Life Celebration on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Old Post Chapel, 204 Arlington Ave., Fort Myer, VA 22211 at 2:45 p.m. Interment to follow in Arlington National Cemetery. Please arrive at the Old Post Chapel at 2 p.m. Everyone attending over the age of 16 must have government issued photo ID.
