auline Howard, 90, a sixty-nine year resident of Annapolis, died May 1 of natural causes at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born on December 12, 1923 in Adelphi, IA, Pauline graduated high school in Glenwood, MO. She was a devout Christian who touched many lives through her faith. Pauline was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Annapolis. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making bracelets and other jewelry for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of sixty nine years (and five months), Melvin Howard; three sons, Melvin R. (Dona) Howard, III of Annapolis, Larry (Connie) Howard of Churchton and William Craigg Howard of Edgewater; one sister, Doris (Joe) Knupp of Glen Ellyn, IL; eight grandchildren, Lawren Bowen of Shady Side, Ryan Howard of New York, Amanda Howard of Westminster, Tyler Howard of Alexandria, VA, Anna Russell of Dillsburg, PA, Adrienne Howard of Arlington, VA, Elizabeth and Jacob Howard of Edgewater; also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, May 5 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 10am at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Dr., Annapolis. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.
