eggy Jean Fate, 73, a 38-year resident of Davidsonville, died September 20, 2011 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born March 3, 1938 in Memphis, TN to the late Allie and Nellie Lipford.
During her career, Peggy worked for two U.S. Senators from the State of Tennessee, the late Honorable Ross Bass and the late Honorable Albert Gore, Sr. She recently retired from the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis. She enjoyed traveling and loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
Peggy was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Lipford. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles Fate; two sons, Greg Fate of West River and Ross Fate of Gambrills; one daughter, Peggy Jean Fate of Denton; one brother, Ernest Lipford of Memphis, TN and six grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Peggy’s Life Celebration on Thursday, September 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, at 11 a.m. at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
