Peggy W. Finlay - Obituary

eggy W. Finlay, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 8, 2023, at her daughter's home in Millersville, MD. Born February 12, 1937, in Winchester, VA, to the late William Warrick and Louise Hershberger, she graduated from Forest Park High School in Baltimore, MD. Peggy owned and operated Children's Carousel Daycare in Edgewater, MD for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, coaching basketball and softball and being a Cub Scout leader. Her greatest passion though was spending time with her family and cheering on her grandchildren at their events. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William S. Finlay, Jr. She is survived by seven children: William S. Finlay of Stevensville, MD, Debra Fisher of Cordova, MD, Kevin T. Finlay of Harrisburg, NC, Denise Finlay of Edgewater, MD, Darlene Finlay of Calvert County, MD, Dawn Faulkner of Sylvania, GA, and Donna Finlay of Millersville, MD; and eight grandsons, 12 granddaughters, and 28 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Peggy's life on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9 am until 10:30 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. A funeral service will follow at 10:30. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
