Peggy Ann Freier - Obituary

P

eggy Ann Jensen Freier was born to Gordon and Leona Jensen on January 17, 1949, in Great Falls, MT. On February 14, 1970, she married David K. Freier (deceased) in Havre, MT, where they had two children, Judie Chambers, who has two children, Brady and Breanna, and Dave A. Freier, who has a daughter, Alexa. In 1978, Peggy lived in Montana and visited her cousin Doris in Virginia, where she met Irene Arvey. They hit it off almost immediately and stayed in constant touch across the country for nearly a year. Finally, in July 1979, Peggy, Judie, and Dave moved to Edgewater, Maryland, where they all lived together until the kids graduated from high school and spread their wings. Peggy and Irene built a wonderful life together for 44 years. She and Irene were devoted moms to nearly a dozen dogs. Sure, as with any relationship, there were ups and downs, but the ups won. They recently wed on September 18, 2023. Peggy had many hobbies and interests like fishing, gardening, playing cards, making collages of family photos, making family videos, and taking long trips to visit with family and friends. But if you knew Peggy, you knew her love of bowling. She was secretary for many bowling leagues over the years, and even though her ability to bowl waned, she could still be seen down at the bowling alley enjoying time where she loved to be. Peggy had numerous jobs, including at Clyde’s Drive-in and the IGA in Havre when she was young. But the one she enjoyed most was her last job working with Visiting Angels as a caregiver. She found it very rewarding and fulfilling. Peggy died on December 8, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with M.S. In addition to her wife, children, and grandchildren, she leaves behind a sister, Darlene Jensen, in Boise, ID, and a brother, Patrick Jensen, in Havre, MT. Patrick has three sons, Matthew, Seth, and Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers - Melvin, Leland, Delbert, Royal, and Greg. Leland had a son, Raymond. Delbert had a son and daughter, Anthony and Kendra. Greg had two daughters, Tara and Tia. Instead of flowers, please make donations in Peggy’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society , P.O. Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090–1891, or by phone at 1-800-344-4867. Please leave a condolence for the family by signing the guestbook at the Memories tab located on the left side of this page.
