eggy Ann Tucker, 88 of Shady Side, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 in Annapolis, MD surrounded by her family. Peggy was born December 13, 1933 in Shady Side to the late Harry and Florence Wilde. A native of Shady Side for nearly 70 years she met the love of her life, William Robert “Pat” Tucker in Shady Side and they were married on October 17, 1953. Peggy was a dedicated volunteer, starting at the young age of 20 as a candy striper at Anne Arundel General Hospital. She continued on to become a founding member of the Avery Salem Museum in Shady Side. She was also heavily involved with St. James Parish, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society where she created “Wigs for Women” for women who are battling cancer. During the 9/11 crisis, she organized a group of volunteers and traveled to NYC to hand out lunches and sweatshirts to the first responders. Outside of her volunteer work, she was well loved as the secretary at Shady Side Elementary for more then 20 years. Peggy enjoyed life. She loved God, her church, family, and traveling. She would travel to NYC with the church to see shows on Broadway and to Historic Williamsburg. She has also visited various locations in both Europe and the Caribbean. She is survived by Pat, her loving husband of 68 years, her daughter Debbie (Bill) Greenfield, her grandchildren Aaron Greenfield, Amanda (Jake) Kilmon and her great-granddaughter Brynn Florence. She is also survived by her sister Beverly, brother and sister in-laws, two god-daughters, several nieces, nephews and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Thomas Wilde, several brother and sister in-laws and her dear friend Mavis Daley. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12 at 11 am at St. James' Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Rd., Lothian, MD. Inurnment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
