Perry V. Meyett - Obituary

erry V. Meyett, 67, a 45-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Annapolis, MD, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Ocean City, MD. Known as “P.M. or Newt”, he was born June 13, 1954, in Prince Frederick Calvert Co., MD to the late Evelyn (Hungerford) Meyett and Alfred Meyett, Jr. Perry worked as a Steel Erector at L.R. Wilson for 16 years and AMTRAK as a Sheet Metal Pipe Fitter for 29 years. He was a longtime member of the ELKS and Moose Lodges and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, camping, and coin collecting. Perry is survived by his wife, Michelle Rhodes; two children, Nathan Rhodes of Edgewater, MD and Nicole (Rhodes) Murray of Crofton, MD; two granddaughters, Kacie and Averie Murray; and two siblings, Steven Meyett of Glen Burnie, MD and Alfred Meyett, III of Annapolis, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Alan and Andrew Meyett, Joseph Saboury, and Faye (Saboury) Rawlings. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Perry’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Saturday, September 4 from 11 AM until his funeral service begins at 12 PM.
