eter Van Vechten Hamill Jr. 61, a fifty-eight year resident of Annapolis, died on Sunday, July 17 of natural causes. Born on August 5, 1954, in Winchester, VA to Margot and the late Dr. Peter V.V. Hamill, Pete was a graduate of the Key School and Washington College. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Friends of Bill W, recently celebrating five years of sobriety. Pete enjoyed fishing, soccer and the University of Michigan Wolverines. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Hamill; his children, Kellen, Carly, James, and Jackson; his siblings, Northmore, Jan, and Liza Hamill. Friends are invited to celebrate Pete's life on Friday, July 22 from 12 pm until his funeral service begins at 1pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Caron Foundation or the James and Jackson Hamill Education fund.
