Peter McCabe - Obituary

eter Joseph McCabe, IV, 39, a five year resident of Germantown, MD and formerly of Gettysburg, PA died on December 22, 2014 at his residence of a genetic blood disorder. Pete served as a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army with the 10th Mountain division based in Ft. Drum, NY. He worked as a hairstylist with Floyds 99 Barber Shop in Gaithersburg, MD and was an outdoor enthusiast and adrenaline junkie. He enjoyed playing poker, hiking, snow skiing, Taekwondo (Black Belt), kickboxing and dabbling as a mixologist. He is survived by his parents, Peter J. and Kim O. McCabe of Harwood, MD; his grandfather, Peter J. McCabe of Harwood; his sister Julie K. McCabe and her husband Daniel N. Pollard of Lothian, MD; his nephew, Tucker N. Pollard and his godchild, Augustina Brienza of Breezewood, MD. Friends are invited to Pete's Life Celebration from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, December 29 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 8:00am on Tuesday, December 30 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Rd., Edgewater, MD.
