L

t Col Peter Grubb McLean, USA, (Ret.) of Edgewater, MD peacefully entered eternal rest on May 29, 2022, with family by his side. Born on July 21, 1929 in New York, NY to the late Violet Byrd Grubb and James Imbrie, Jr., he and his family moved from Long Island to Monmouth Farm in Emmerton, MD as a young child. After serving in Korea he earned a Masters degree in business from the University of Maryland where he enjoyed playing football in the Orange Bowl and was a National Lacrosse Champion. His civilian career consisted of working in sales for 8 years with Exxon and 24 years with Citco Petroleum. In the twilight of his life, still wanting to make a positive difference, he joined Americore for 1 year and became a substitute teacher for Anne Arundel County, retiring at 80. Peter is survived by his brother, James McLean of Chesapeake City, MD; his beloved partner of 18 years, Jan Bahen of Edgewater, MD; his children, Denise Dennison of Colorado Springs, CO, Will Jacob of Glen Burnie, MD, Charlotte McLean of Annapolis, MD and Heather Whipps of Jacksonville, FL; his step daughters, Sandra Smith, Jo Anne McHardy and Susan Minns of Toronto, Canada and numerous loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
