ETER HERBERT WARE Peter Herbert Ware, 83, of Annapolis, died May 9 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House after a 7 month battle with cancer. He was born on May 10, 1925 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England to the late Albert and Ellen Rebecca Ware. In 1944, Peter joined the British army with a commission in the Royal Signals, and was sent to Singapore and later to Burma. Upon returning to England, he completed his Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering in 1951, at the Brighton Technical College. Years later in 1964, he achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering, Public Health Engineering at the Imperial College of Science and Technology London. Peter met and married Pamela Harman in 1950. Five years later, they left England and moved to North Borneo (Malaysia) working for the British and Malaysian Government's Public Works Department as an executive Engineer within the Water Supply division. Both of their daughters, Penelope and Victoria, were born while they were living in Malaysia. Between 1966 and 1968, the family moved to Brunei, where Peter was given a position within Binnie and Partners, an International Consulting Engineering firm. Peter next worked with engineering firm Camp Dresser and McKee, taking the family to live in Boston, Izmir Turkey and Colorado. From 1975 through 1987, Peter launched a career with the World Bank in Washington D.C. within the Reconstruction and Development department. He traveled to India, China, Africa, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Pakistan and the Middle East and for two years, he and his wife, Pamela, lived in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. During his “retirementâ€, Peter worked as a self employed consultant with the World Bank, again sending him overseas to Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Albania and Kosovo. After divorcing Pamela, Peter met Olga Pestova in St. Petersburg and they were married in 2003 where they lived in Annapolis. He enjoyed tennis, sailing, music, art and gardening. There were always dogs in the family life, his favorite being German Shepherds, and he also enjoyed horses and horse back riding. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marion Howland and Eileen Dobson, and his brother, Kenneth Ware. He is survived by his wife, Olga Ware; two daughters, Penelope Ware Menzies of Arnold, Maryland and Victoria Valberg Ware of Stockholm, Sweden; three grandchildren, Danielle Ware Sabatini and Jonathan Ware Sabatini of Arnold, Maryland, and Jac Peter Forsberg Ware of Stockholm Sweden. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Service which will be held on Friday, May 15 at 11:00 am at All Hallows' Parish, 3604 Solomons Island Road (Route 2), Edgewater, MD, 21037. A reception at his daughter's home will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Peter H. Ware to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave, Annapolis MD, 21403 or to the Maryland Environmental Trust. Arrangements are being made by George P.
