Philip Karp - Obituary

hilip "Tasty" Karp On Sunday, September 24, 2017 of Gambrills, MD. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Lee Karp; loving father of Michael Karp; cherished grandfather of Amanda and Steven Karp. Preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Karp. Philip was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from high school as a valedictorian. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a drummer with the Marine Corps Band. His employment included Karp's Jewelers in Marlow Heights, MD and Deputy Chief Bailiff with Prince Georges County Circuit Court. He was a member of the Elks Club in Camp Springs, Maryland. Friends are invited to celebrate Philip's life on Tuesday, October 3 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd. , Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD at 1:00 p.m.
