Phillip Andrew Wahler - Obituary

hillip Andrew Wahler, 70, passed away on January 17, 2026. Phil devoted more than 45 years of his life to public service as a computer programmer with the FBI, remaining dedicated to his work until the very end. He was a passionate fan of Washington’s Nationals and Commanders and took great joy in the family’s annual trips to Tennessee. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, talking all things rock-and-roll, and savoring a really good meal. Phil’s knowledge, loyalty, and quiet sense of enjoyment for life will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Phil is survived by his brother, John Wahler, and his wife, Lisa; and his sister, Karen Schumaker, and her husband, Clarence (“Shoe”). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Wahler; his brother, Carl Wahler; and his sister-in-law, Patty Wahler. Relatives and friends are invited to Phil's Memorial Gathering on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the start of his Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745.
