Phyllis Lou Kenney - Obituary

hyllis Lou “Mim” Kenney, 85, a 58-year resident of Davidsonville and formerly of Roger Heights, MD, passed away at her home on November 20, 2018 following a 3-year illness. Born on June 17, 1933 in Washington, DC to the late Arthur and Katherine Oakley, Phyllis left school and married at the age of 16. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she provided a comfortable and loving home for her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with them and offering support and encouragement in all their endeavors. Phyllis was a member of the Davidsonville United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles E. Kenney who died in 2006, her brother, Buster Oakley and two sisters, Lee Oakley and Vivian Shavor. She is survived by her son, William Elmer Kenney and daughter, Elma Lou “Missy” Reynolds, both of Davidsonville, and two grandchildren, Mike Reynolds and Courtnie (Sean) Karraken.
