eflections of the Life of Mrs. Precilla Alegre Macalino Precilla “Precy/Lori” Alegre Baluno Macalino, 71, of Waldorf, MD departed this life on Thursday, September 18, 2014 of Colon Cancer. Precy was Born February 10, 1943 in Bacolod City (Negros Occidental), Philippines. The daughter of Fortunato Baluno and Stefania Juarte, Precy and her siblings grew up on the island of Negros Occidental in the Philippines. During these years she grew to appreciate nature and flowers, as well as an everlasting love for her birth country. As a young lady she moved to the cosmopolitan city of Manilla, where she eventually met and married her husband Larry, who was serving in the US Air Force at the time. In the years to follow, Precy, Larry and their four kids, lived in various places around the world such as Bitburg, Germany and Hickam AFB, HI. Precy and family eventually settled in San Antonio, TX while the kids completed their primary education. During this time, Precy developed and honed her business and customer service skills, buying and selling imported goods from international markets. She had a wonderful way of working with people from all walks of life. After her children graduated high school and college, Precy and Larry returned to the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, specifically Fort Washington, Maryland where she continued to pursue her business endeavors, as well as formed enduring bonds of friendships with many people in the area. Precy’s friendly disposition and welcoming demeanor were key reasons she had so many devoted friends and acquaintances. In addition to her sparkling personality, Precy’s cooking of Filipino cuisine was famous among all who knew her. Her lumpia, pancit, adobo and fried rice kept everyone coming back for more! Precilla is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry FL Macalino, her eldest daughter Dorothy Judie Macalino and son-in-law Tony Patterson of Waldorf, MD, daughter Marie Sherandy Macalino of Waldorf, MD, eldest son James Macalino and son-in-law Bill McConnell of Boston, MA, son Desmond Kealoha Macalino and son-in-law Daniel Kenyon-Macalino of Washington DC, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Precilla's Life Celebration on Friday, September 26 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 7800 Livingston Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Entombment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
