Priscilla Claggett Borden - Obituary

riscilla Claggett Borden, 94, passed away on July 31, 2022, with her family by her side. She was a longtime resident of Annandale, Virginia. Priscilla was born to the late Frank Joseph Martin and Henrietta Carroll Martin, on October 20, 1927, in Washington, D.C. Priscilla grew up in Washington D.C., graduated from finishing school, and went on to work as a dental assistant before becoming a full-time mother, homemaker and doting Nana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John V. Borden, and is survived by two sons, Randall John and Daryn Borden, daughter-in-law Joanne (nee Radko) Borden, and one grandson, Matthew John Borden, as well as beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Throughout her life, Priscilla had a passion for all animals, especially dogs and birds. She supported many charities, including many related to animals, and served as a volunteer for GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue and Training of Northern Virginia). Viewing will be held on Monday, August 8 from 10-11 A.M. at Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill, Maryland. The burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue Suitland, Maryland following the viewing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue, Education, Training) located in Merrifield, VA.
