riscilla Goodson, daughter of the late Frederick Douglas Little and Lula Mae Little, was born on June 8, 1941, in Waterbury, Connecticut. She grew up in New Haven, Connecticut and graduated from Hillhouse High School. She received her license in Cosmetology in 1961. She worked as a beautician, cosmetologist and teacher for 56 years at Wilfred Academy in New Haven and Los Angeles as well as Marinello School of Beauty in Los Angeles as well as Western Kit Company in Whittier, California and Virginia College in Simpsonville , South Carolina.
She is survived by one son, Eric Little of Duarte, California, four grandchildren, Lonette Korpoi of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Erica Warren of New Bern, North Carolina, Brianna Little of Washington, DC and Eric Little Jr of Duarte, California. She’s also survived by one great-granddaughter, Phoenix Warren of New Bern, North Carolina, two sisters, Betty Mae Jackson of Hamden, Connecticut and Rosalie Johnson of Alpharetta, Georgia and one brother, Floyd Little of Las Vegas, Nevada as well as a daughter-in-law, two grandson-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by two brothers, Charles Little and Frederick Little.
She loved listening to various types of music including R&B, Motown oldies and yes, even a little hip-hop as she used to say, “being around young people keeps you young”. In her later years she loved to visit the casinos, play her daily numbers and watch TV. Her favorite shows were Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, Everybody Loves Raymond and of course, The Golden Girls.
She will be solely missed by family, friends, past co-workers and the many students who’s lives she impacted.
