n January 13, 2022, Ralph Louis De Lalla of Annapolis, MD, a resident of the Washington D.C. area for over 80 years, passed away. Ralph was born on September 24, 1938, in Washington D.C. to the late Frank and Guilia De Lalla who immigrated from Italy along with his 10-year-old brother. He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was honorably discharged in 1962. He is survived by his first wife Marta De Titta and was preceded in death by his second wife, Brenda MacLean. He was a father to Michele De Lalla, Karen (De Lalla) Mullikin and her husband Greg Mullikin, Susan (De Lalla) Luber and her husband Cliff Luber. He also was a father to Brenda's five children: Linda Gottshall-Sayed, Laura VanSyckle (Chris), Lisa McMains (Curt), and Michael Murphy (Jackie) and grandfather to Bryan James, Adam James (Naomi), Nicholas Mullikin (Ashley), Callie Dempsey (Philip), Emma Sayed, Rachel McMains, Jordan Luber (Kate), Jacob Luber, Joseph Luber, Amanda Gallo, and Kiley Murphy. He was preceded in death by his brother Louis De Lalla and stepdaughter Denise Gallo. He just recently became a great grandfather to Mason Gage Mullikin and Evelyn "Evie" James. He is survived by Brenda's sister Sandra MacLean Clunies and her two children Jonathon and Katie Clunies. Ralph will be long remembered for his love of family, his commitment to protecting the environment, and his determined spirit. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of the Chesapeake. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
