Ralph Myers - Obituary

alph Horace Myers, 69, of Edgewater, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 5, 2023. Ralph was born on June 24, 1953 to the late Horace and Pattie Myers and spent his childhood at their delicatessen on MacArthur Blvd in the Palisades neighborhood of Washington, DC. At the age of 20, in July of 1973, Ralph began his apprenticeship at L.P. Steuart as an automotive mechanic and continued to work as an auto body technician until his unofficial retirement in 2018. He spent the greater half of his life in Edgewater, MD, where he found great joy being on the South River and teaching his sons how to drive boats on Beards Creek. He was heavily involved in his two son’s activities and could be seen holding the chains at football games or working the penalty box at hockey games. Ralph is survived by his sons, Matthew Myers and Patrick Myers; Patrick’s wife and Ralph’s daughter-in-law, Moji Myers; his older sister Elissa Weeks and her children, Brendan Weeks and Colleen Holloway. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at the American Legion Post 7, 1905 Crownsville Road, Annapolis, MD, on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 2 to 5 pm.
