alph Wayne Story, 78, of Crownsville, Maryland, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Annapolis, MD, after complications from surgery. He was married to the late Linda J. Story for 58 years. Born on November 11, 1947, in Fredericksburg, VA, to the late Ralph H and Virginia Story, Ralph graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1966 and went to work as a cable splicer with C&P telephone company later joining the Army and and after his time in the Army went back to work with C&P eventually becoming an Engineer retiring in 1998 to spend more time as a family man and earned a new title of Pop Pop. Ralph was a resident of Crownsville, MD for 21 years, having previously lived in Bowie, MD. He found joy in traveling, supporting veteran organizations such as the DAV and, most of all, spending cherished time with his family and helping others in his community. He was an amazing father to his 2 kids and a proud Pop Pop of his 3 grandkids often their number one fan, cheering for them at sporting or band events. He is survived by his son, Kai Story; his daughter, Tara Abramowitz, and husband Josh of Arnold, MD; his brother, Don Story, of Annapolis, MD; and his sister, Barbara Story, of Austin, TX. He was a caring grandfather, better known as "Pop Pop," to Conner Green of Glen Burnie, MD, and to Caleb and Caleigh Abramowitz of Arnold, MD. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 4-7pm at West End Grill, 2049 West Street, Annapolis, MD, to honor and remember Ralph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
