Ray Elwood Comer - Obituary

ay “Pete” Elwood Comer, Sr., 75, a 40-year resident of Davidsonville, died on October 20, 2009 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood of natural causes. Born on May 22, 1934 in Page County, VA, he served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1951 to 1959. Ray was a bus and Metro train driver for the District of Columbia Metropolitan Transit Authority. He was the husband of Burnell Comer whom he married in 1956; father of Jeffrey Comer of Hong Kong, Ray E. Comer, Jr. of Davidsonville, and Gregory Comer of Asbury Park, NJ; and brother of Mary Lee Van of River Falls, WI and Louise Royer of Shenandoah, VA. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Pete's Life Celebration on Saturday, October 24 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Funeral service and interment private.
