aymond Joseph Augusterfer, III, 80, a resident of Edgewater, MD for over 50 years, died on March 27, 2010 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD. Born June 30, 1929 in Washington, DC, he graduated from Gonzaga College High School in Washington and attended Villanova University. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he worked for the York Corporation as a heating and air conditioning equipment sales specialist throughout the Washington, DC area, retiring after a 40-year career. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #622. He was an avid Redskins fan, enjoyed boating and golf, and, most of all, loved spending time with his family. The husband of the late Maureen L. Augusterfer who died in 2005, he is survived by two sons: Raymond J. Augusterfer, IV of Baltimore, MD and Bernard F. Augusterfer of Annapolis, MD; three daughters: Kathleen Augusterfer of Silver Spring, MD, Debra A. Hill of Annapolis and Lori A. McGaha of Edgewater; one brother, Thomas Augusterfer of both Malvern, PA and Annapolis and one sister, Patricia Miller of Knoxville, TN. He was also the brother of the late John Augusterfer. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren: Jason Hill, Nicholas and Zachary Augusterfer and Erin McGaha; and two great-grandchildren: Ariyanna and Khloe Hill. Friends are invited to Raymond's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, March 30, from 5 until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. If friends wish, memorial donations may be made in Raymond's name to the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Service Foundation, Inc., P.O.
