Rebecca Wood Heard - Obituary

ebecca Wood Heard, 96, a six year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Waynesboro, VA for 44 years, died on March 5, 2019 at Fairfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Crownsville, MD. Born on November 24, 1922 in Newport News, VA to the late Thornton R. and Mary Carroll Wood, Rebecca owned and operated Brook's Cleaners in Waynesboro with her late husband of 75 years, Joe M. Heard, Jr. In addition to her husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by her children, David Heard and Sallie Hodgkinson; her sisters, Catherine, Bea, Riva, Frances, Rosa, Dot and Bobbie and her grandson, Adam Hodgkinson. She is survived by her daughter in law, Janet B. Heard; her granddaughters, Michelle Pepersack and Jeanette Machen; her great grandson, Nicholas Machen and many nieces and nephews.
