eginald Owen Faust, “Reggie,” 87, a resident of Annapolis for 64 years, died at Perry Point VA Medical Center on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Reggie was born in Camp Parole, MD on November 28, 1927 to the late William Owen and Norma Tucker Faust. He did two stints in the military, one during WWII and the other serving in Korea where he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals. After the Korean War, Reginald held various jobs; he was a brakeman on the railroad, a lineman for BGE and he was self-employed as a gym owner. He owned “Reggie’s Gym” in Annapolis and was very proud of how many people he helped over the years. Reginald invented three pieces of exercise equipment with specific safety features that he was able to patent. During his lifetime, he has received over 265 awards for his prowess in bodybuilding but, more importantly to him, is the money he raised for different charities through bodybuilding competitions. The first competition he organized was the first one in Annapolis and it was called “Mr. and Mrs. Annapolis Body-Building Show”. It had 67 contestants and was the biggest in the State of Maryland. The proceeds from the competition went to a gym member who was hit by an automobile and was in a coma. In all, Reggie raised over $76,000.00 for 13 local organizations. He liked to tell people that once, during a seven month period, he raised money for the Salvation Army by dancing at the Hangar Club in Camp Springs, MD. Reggie’s various memberships included the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Edgewater, the L.L. Merrill, Sr., Chapter 3 DAV, and the Elks Club of Annapolis where he was past Exalted Ruler. He had a passion for taking care of animals and he particularly enjoyed feeding his birds and squirrels. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Norma Klotz, and a brother-in-law, Stanley Fowler. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Faust whom he married on September 2, 1997, two sisters, Jeanne Fowler of Manassas, VA and Nancy Tattlebaum of South Weymouth, MA, and in-laws, Barbara Ballinger, Tina Noble, John Tolley, and Dave Tattlebaum. Reggie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In closing, Reggie is described as an inventor, showman, philanthropist, humanitarian, good husband and neighbor, and generally just a fine Christian man.
