Reginald Derek Grice - Obituary

eginald Derek Grice, 84, a 25-year resident of Edgewater and previously of St. Louis, died at his home with his family in Edgewater on August 25, 2022. He was born in Oaken Gates, Shropshire, England on February 27, 1938 to the late Frederick and Elsie Grice. Derek was the Owner of Gateway Construction and RDG Associates. He was a member of the American Kennel Club and the Maryland Boxer Club, he was a loyal fan of Tottenham FC, and he loved tennis and playing golf. Derek loved spending time with his family, especially his great-grandson Wesley. In addition to his parents, Derek was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Brenda, and his granddaughter, Erika. He is survived by his sons, Sean (Jennifer) Grice of Dunkirk, MD, and Steven (Debbie) Grice of Howie in the Hills, FL; grandchildren Sarah (Tim) Parker of Edgewater and Jack, Nick, and Sam Grice, all of Howie in the Hills; and his great-grandson, Wesley Parker. Family and friends are invited to Derek’s life celebration on Wednesday, August 31 from 10-11 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11, at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. The interment will be private.
