Rick volunteered as Santa for the Yappy Hour holiday fundraiser at the Chesapeake Animal Clinic in Owings, MD, and Santa Paws fundraisers at the Linda L. Rick had many friends with whom he enjoyed playing flag football and watching professional football. He always had a car full of friends. They enjoyed the drive-in movies and concerts at the former Capital Center, Kings Dominion, Ocean City, and Disney World. Rick was a devoted friend to Bill Bullard. Many good times were had with friends Gary McNair, John Pasquini, Michael Vitko, and Tim Kiessling. Rick loved his daughter’s cats Sassy, Gypsy and dog Max. He used to pet sit for his sister, Laurel and brother-in-law, Bernie’s pups: Cedar, Snickers, Meesha, Yager, Pippit, Quint, and Mango. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank J. and Ruth A. Rainey; his uncle, Frank J. Rainey Jr.; his beloved great-aunt, Helen; his aunt, Katherine, his uncle, Larry and his daughter, Sarah. Rick is survived by his children, Richard Vincent Drake, Jr. and Abigail Lee Drake; his brother, Charles “Mike” (Gail) Drake; his sisters, Charlene Fink and Laurel (Bernie) Matthews; his nephews, Christopher Drake and David Fink; his niece, Becky Drake; his great-nephew, Charles Maverick; his cousin, Lynn Drake; his second mom, Ruth Foster; his former wife, Tamara Hostetter, many cousins and a lifetime of cherished friends.
